Description

This granite memorial honors those from Cumberland County who served in World War I. The memorial is carved as an open book on a layer of granite stones. On the left-hand page is carved the famous poem “In Flanders Fields” with an image of a cemetery full of crosses carved on the top of the page. On the right side page is carved an infantry rifle with the point down and a helmet resting on the butt of the rifle and next to this are carved the names of those from Cumberland County who died in the war.
