var str = 'This gray granite marker honors the 29th Infantry Division for its service during World War II. On the top of the marker is the unit insignia with the words “29 Lets Go”. Inscribed on the memorial is the dedication to the 29th that stormed ashore on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944 in France and suffered severe casualties. It states that “Our Comrades Lie in Distant Fields. They Gave the Last Full Measure of Their Devotion, Sleep, Comrades, Forever Young. We Salute You. Remember Us.” On the reverse side is inscribed the battles/campaigns in which the 29th participated, the unit awards received including 5 Presidential Unit Citations and battle casualties – 20,327 killed, wounded and missing.';

var str = 'This large, circular memorial honors canines who served with the U.S. Army in combat from including the Lewis and Clark expedition through modern times. The memorial centers around a large black granite column on which are sculpted a canine and his soldier handler/companion. It is surrounded by individual markers that honor canines and their handlers who served in individual American wars; these individual markers have bronze plaques on the top and colorful unit insignias on the bottom. There are also histories of the canine corps and the service they have rendered. The bronze plaques also list the individual canines by name who were killed in action. Individual markers also list and honor Marine Corps and Navy K-9, Air Force Security Dog, and Military Police K-9 units. There is also a marker to honor the Veterinarian Service Units in Vietnam. Two large markers list the names of the dogs and handlers who were killed in the fighting in Vietnam. Finally, there is a marker describing the actions of S/Sgt Robert Hartsock of the 44th Infantry Platoon Scout Dog unit who received the Medal of Honor for his actions in Vietnam. There is a separate marker that includes a bronze sculpture of a paratrooper and the famous jumping dog “Geronimo” who jumped with the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment and helped raise over $16 million in war bond funds';

It is inscribed with the unit’s insignia which includes the Airborne patch and the Glider patch. Down a small walkway is the main memorial circle which centers on a large memorial composed of two octagonal granite bases on which sits a large rectangular granite stone which is topped by a bronze life-size soldier with his arm raised holding his rifle. The marker states it is dedicated to the officers and men of the 11th Airborne Division who served from 1942 to 1958. On a low wall surrounding the statue is inscribed the history of the Division and the battles and campaigns in which it served mainly during World War II and Korea.';
