This poignant bronze statue represents the strength, humanity and struggle of prisoners of war. The figures are meant to be universal and thus have no distinct uniforms or insignia. The three figures support each other. On the bottom of the sculpture is a Biblical quote from Zechariah which states: Turn You to the Stronghold Ye Prisoners of Hope.';

var str = 'The Memorial Garden contains hundreds of individual memorials to specific sub-units and plane crews that comprised the Eighth Air Force that fought in World War II. Most memorials honor fallen comrades. Included in the Garden is a poignant memorial to the children of the British town of Freckleton who died in a B-24 crash in an testing accident; thirty-eight of those killed were five-year old children who were in the school hit by the plane. The reflecting pool honors, Eighth Air Force veteran Ben Love of Texas. There is also a replica of the headstone for Medal of Honor Recipient, James Doolittle as well as the original marker that rested at Arlington National Cemetery. Within the Garden stands the Wall of Valor with individual plaques engraved with the names of those who served and there is the Chapel of the Fallen Angels to honor all those who gave their lives.';

The museum contains many artifacts and stories of the men who fought in the air over Europe and the mighty airplanes they flew. The museum contains as Wall of Valor that honors all of the Medal of Honor recipients from the unit as well. There is a also a separate memorial garden (it has its own entry) and Memorial Chapel that contain many, many tributes to the men and planes of the Mighty 8th.';

var str = 'This large sandstone memorial sits atop a raised mound in popular Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia. The memorial is a stacked pyramid shape with the base section inscribed to “Our Confederate Dead 1861-1865”. The four corners of the base are topped by large stone spheres. The memorial has intricate carvings of angel heads and flags as well as laurel wreaths. On top stands a Confederate soldier. On two sides of the memorial and within the black wrought-iron fence surrounding the memorial are two busts; one is for Brigadier General Francis S. Bartow and the other is General Lafayette McLaws, both are sons of Savannah. ';
