This medium sized granite marker which was erected by the William Forney Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy honors those from Calhoun County who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War II and the Korean War. The memorial was dedicated on April 26, 1960.

An account of the resource
A large statue of piled rocks topped by a globe on which a spread-winged eagle lands honors those who gave their lives in the First World War. On the front of the memorial is a bronze plaque Honor Roll list of the forty-one servicemen from Calhoun County, Alabama who were killed during their service from 1917-1919. On the back side of the memorial is a small plaque referring to the Honor Roll for all Soldiers and Sailors from Calhoun County and indicates it was dedicated on Armistice Day 1921. The memorial sits on the island median of Quintard Avenue. The memorial was dedicated by the William Forney Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
