Description
An account of the resource
This memorial park honors Alabama military servicemen and women who gave their lives for their nation in the wars of the 20th century. There are walls of names for World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. The walls also include quotes/descriptions provided by Alabama schoolchildren. The walls are of polished black marble/granite. The largest two walls are for the World Wars and are arranged in half circles. The park is arranged around a small square pond and a brick-triple archway moved from the old Anniston High School and a set of large flagpoles.
