Description
An account of the resource
The post cemetery at Fort Riley, Kansas has burials dating from 1853 and include over 100 in unmarked graves who died in a cholera epidemic in 1855 and another section notes the unmarked graves of those who died in an epidemic in 1867. There is also a plaque noting that seven Confederate POWs who were captured in fighting in Texas and New Mexico are also buried in the cemetery. And three Medal of Honor recipients also lie in these grounds.
