var str = 'Within the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (also known as the Punchbowl) in Honolulu have been erected Courts of Memorial to honor all those US servicemen and women who have no known final resting place; this includes those whose remains were never recovered, those who are MIA as well as those buried or missing at sea. There are more than 28,000 names listed on the 10 large courts on each side of the stairway and the Court of Honor at the top which also includes a small chapel. Most -- more than 18,000 -- are from World War II in the Pacific (except for the southwest Pacific or Asian mainland which are commemorated at the US Cemetery at Manila, Philippines). There are also more than 8000 names from the Korean War and 2500 from the Vietnam War.';

var str = 'There are two separate memorials in this small park along the waterfront in New Haven. The first is a black granite slab on which is engraved the years 1959-75 and shows 3 figures – one is a female army nurse and the others are soldier/marines. The center figure stands with only his back showing. This memorial states it is dedicated to all those from New Haven, East Haven, West Haven, North Haven, Hamden, Orange and Woodbridge who served during the war. In addition a large “V” on the water’s edge is inscribed with the 18 names of those from the New Haven area who lost their lives during the war as well as those three were listed as M.I.A. ';
