var str = 'This large white stone monument topped by a figure of woman with her head bowed honors the 22 women killed when the Washington Arsenal exploded on June 17, 1864. The Arsenal sat in what today is the Navy Yard. Sparks from a nearby explosion set off the large explosion in the arsenal that killed the women. Sixteen are buried here together although 8 were never identified; two more ladies are buried in family plots within the cemetery. The funeral procession in the capitol was massive and heady by President Lincoln and Edwin Stanton, the Secretary of War.';
