These 3 plaques honor those units that attacked and seized the German bunker position known as Wiederstandsnest 65 overlooking Omaha Beach. This became the initial exit from the beach for Allied forces led by the 1st Division. The 467th Battalion cleared these German defensive positions and they honor their members who lost their lives here.
