This large dark pink granite memorial honors those from Victoria County who served in World War II and especially those who gave their lives. On the top of the memorial is a metallic medallion honoring the flag raising on Iwo Jima; below this medallion is carved the “Four Freedoms” quote from President Franklin Roosevelt. Around the central plaque that contains the names of the deceased are the medallions representing the American Legion, VFW, DAV, and Marine Corps League. On each end and only visible from the ends, separate metal plaques have been added that include the names of those from Victoria County who died in the Korean and Vietnam Wars
