This granite marker honors those Union women who served during the Civil War and lost their lives. The inscription notes it honor those women who served on the battlefield as well as those who nursed the sick and dying. The monument was dedicated in 1996 by the Julia Dent Grant Tent #16 of the Daughters of Union Veterans.
