This four foot by three foot granite memorial honors the those who died without their names being known and are buried in Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. Annie Wittenmyer worked to provide food and supplies to wounded Union soldiers during the Civil War and she worked to reform conditions in hospitals. The memorial was dedicated in 1940 by the Annie Wittenmyer Tent No. 3 Chapter of the Daughters of Veterans
