The beautiful circular memorial in the Veterans Park overlooking Pensacola Bay honors all those from Florida who served in World War II. The circle is ringed with bronze memorials with the names of all of the major battles/campaigns of the war. Individual names of those who gave their lives from northern Florida are inscribed with each battle. In the center of the circle is a large “Victory Platform”, which has a Roman numeral II and a large V for Victory sitting on a polished black granite base on an eight-sided granite base. On the platform around the large V are four statues honoring all four branches of service. Next to the Victory platform is a woman in uniform honoring all women who served in the war especially in the medical services.
