Twenty French soldiers who trained at Gunter also lie near the RAF section of this same cemetery along with Honorary French Consul , Bernard Albert Auzias de Turenne. There is a bronze plaque that lists all those Frenchmen who died in the United States while serving during World War II; this list includes both army and navy personnel. Of the 100 Frenchmen who died in the US during the war, twenty lie at Oakwood.
