Within the Oakwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama is a section containing the graves of 78 officers and men of the Royal Air Force who were killed while training in Montgomery at Gunter Airfield during World War II. The section is maintained by the Commonwealth Graves Commission which cares for the burial sites of British and Commonwealth soldiers all over the world who fell in service the British nation and the empire. The site contains the standard Cross of Sacrifice and each headstone resembles a small English garden and is maintained immaculately
