The marker is composed of one monument with names inscribed on both sides of veterans from the Blooming Grove area. There is an engraving of a helicopter on the top. The marker is located in a small park with memorials to World War II , K-9s, and Korea as well. There are also benches that have been sponsored by individual families to honor members of their families who have served in the military. One particularly poignant bench is dedicated to a marine who spent the entire period of World War II, 1941-1945, as a Japanese P.O.W. and then went on to serve in Korea as a civilian and then in the Texas State Guard during Vietnam.
