Jutra Post Memorial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, NH
474 Goffstown Road, Manchester, NH 03102
Within the grounds of this city cemetery is a special section dedicated to the Franco-Americans of the Jutras Post #43 of the American Legion. The large memorial and section was dedicated on October 8, 1939. The memorial that sits at the rear of the burial section is a large granite Gothic arch on a three-tiered base. On the arch which is flanked by two buttresses is a sculpted bronze high relief of a Legionnaire holding a flag that swirls around him. On each side of his legs are two palm branches and at his feet is a flower. There is a large cross on both sides of the arch. On the base are the seals of the state of New Hampshire and the United States. The memorial was sculpted by Lucien H. Gosselin. In front of the memorial are the headstones of the men of the Post who mainly served in World War I.
